Nicole Kidman's life isn't exactly like everybody else's, and she likes it that way.
"Keith [Urban] and I are both gypsies at heart," she told InStyle, on newsstands Friday, of her marriage to the country singer, 46. "We can make our home wherever we are. The girls are like that too now, so we take them everywhere."
The actress added that riding on a tour bus is how she's seen "most of America," and of course, that includes trappings of everyday life, including fast food.
"Keith and I eat at Wendy's," she admitted. "You've got to remember, I'm with a musician on a tour bus. We do drive-throughs!"
But in spite of their cozy life on the road, there are still times that he has to leave them behind. To that end, he has a romantic way of staying close.
"For every single night he's away, he leaves me a love letter," she said. "Every single night of our relationship."
If it sounds like the two have a regular-sounding marriage, it's because Kidman says they do. In fact, she's happiest at home in Nashville rather than out and about in Hollywood.
"I'm very country at heart. I have a real desire to be outdoors, a desire for simplicity -- a slightly slower, relaxed approach to life," she said. "A community, not a big-city feel. That's what I grew up with, and it's what I prefer."
