Le Métier de Beauté Colour Core Moisture Stain Lipsticks in Cannes, Fiji and Riviera - Review and Swatches

A unique combination of vibrant color lip stain and healthful moisturizer in one. Creates that coveted “just-bitten” natural flush of a lip-stain, while the unique emollient-rich, hydrating, moisture-stain formula delivers essential replenishment and voluptuous full coverage color to lips. It’s non-cracking and long-wearing, with the lasting power of color stain, and won’t bleed or feather into fine lines around the lips. Lip-loving moisturizers include jojoba, lanolin and shea butter to keep lips soft and supple—for a velvety lip texture, with a silky finish.

Packaging
The lipsticks come in a black plastic packaging and and the outside is rubberised - reminiscent of Nars, but it has the 'ringed' pattern and the silver in the middle that has the branding. While not unique, I love the font they use for their logo. The product and colour label is on the bottom of the tube. It's a fairly simple and modern design. It has the typical twist mechanism to reveal and conceal the lip product, and a push and click closure. Since it's made of plastic, it makes it very lightweight and convenient to carry around (compared to Guerlain Rouge G lipsticks for example! ;-) ).
My Colour Selections
These three colours were the ones that attracted me the most (of course, there are more I like the look of such as Paris, Palm Springs and Dubai (the latter looks similar to Cannes though, but darker based on other swatches I've seen online), perhaps next time. ;-) ):
  • Fiji: bright, bubblegum pink. It's a fun colour to wear out or on weekends.
  • Cannes: frosty pink with slight purple hue.  I love pairing this with Le Métier de Beauté Sheer Brilliance Lip Gloss in Uma Paro (if you want to tone down the frostiness and also make it wearable for the office).
  • Riviera: glossy, orange red which reminds me a bit of Nars 'Heatwave' (colour not finish as the Nars one is more of a satin finish).  I can't seem to get enough of orange-red lipsticks of late! >_<
You can certainly have fun layering the different lipstick shades together to give a different look - following from Le Métier de Beauté’s signature Couche de Couleur technique (the application of colour through layering), to give a more complex, multi-dimensional result.
More eye candy! ^_^
Please excuse the slightly damaged tip - unfortunately, this was how it arrived! /:-\

Finish, Texture and Wear
The lipstick first applies sheerly, but can easily be built up to a semi-opaque-to-full coverage in 3-4 coats, so you can wear this as a light stain, to a full colour with a shiny, glossy finish. After eating a meal like a chicken caesar wrap and drinking water, a lovely stain is still left on the lips, so the wear ain't bad at all. :) I really like the lightweight formulation of the lipstick making it comfortable to wear. It applies fairly thinly, smoothly and evenly, and I found that it certainly does not feather or bleed.  While it doesn't feel as moisturising as other creamier or gel-like formulations as the Burberry Lip Mist and Chantecaille Lip Chic lipsticks, LMdB Colour Core Moisture Stain Lipsticks are thin and lightweight by comparison, and yet still keeps your lips hydrated.  You can tell, because even after its come off, your lips feel soft, supple and healthy. ^_^

Scent
To my nose, there's no noticeable scent (or taste!). Good for sensitive noses like mine. ;-)

Swatches
Against olive tanned skin (about a MAC NC30 for reference).

Final Verdict
A great, versatile lipstick that you can wear as a stain or full colour with shine and gloss. One of the new generation of lipsticks that's lightweight, long-wearing and offer a lovely, hydrating lip treatment. It's as though your lips have been on a much needed relaxing holiday.

Hope this was helpful.  The hard part will be choosing the shade(s) - there's 26 to choose from! O_O ;-)

Thanks for visiting. xo ^_^

Have you tried any LMdB products?  If so, what are your fave(s)?  Would love to know!
