Uriage Water Jelly Moisturizer - Review

The hunt for a perfect moisturizer is a real struggle for any beauty lover. For years I have used Uriage products, especially their Hyseac range that is intended for blemish prone and combination skin. Having oily and sensitive skin, it is difficult to find a good balancing moisturizer that is hydrating but not heavy and thick so it never sinks into the skin.

With the summer being around the corner and the popularity of gel moisturizers being at an all time high, I was getting more and more interested. Finally seeing an ad that Uriage is launching their first gel moisturizer called Water Jelly, I was more than excited!

Uriage is a brand that has my full trust so the next logical step was to rush to the local pharmacy to buy it!

The claims for Water Jelly moisturizer are (per Uriage website):
  • regenerates the hydration of the skin
  • restoring the skin barrier and limiting its dehydration
Uriage recommends Water Jelly moisturizer for normal to combination skin.

Having already repurchased this gel moisturizer in short time I can vouch for its claims! It is lightweight, sinks in beautifully and skin after use feels supple. It has done great job at balancing my skin and it has not caused more sebum production. Another pro of the Water Jelly moisturizer is that it did not break me out!

Wearing makeup for most of the week, I have been using it under makeup and it creates a great canvas for it. It lasted me for about 2 months and has a slight fragrance, typical of Uriage skincare.

However, I can see how this moisturizer may not work for everyone. In my case the spring and summer humidity pair great with oily skin and gel moisturizer but perhaps for winter my skin will need something with a bit more occlusive and 'thicker' feel. As for people with dry and normal skin, I see it as a great option all year round.

The Uriage Water Jelly moisturizer is available at pharmacies and online retailers. For a typical Uriage moisturizer price (around 20€) you get 40ml/1.35fl.oz.
